this is what I get when I try to load my new save.

Which save sphere was it created at?

Also, attaching the save that crashes on load would be helpful for debugging purposes.

I tried to reproduce this. Did you surrender to Elon or find the jail cell through exploration?

Do you recall when you actually made the save? Was it immediately upon waking up or did you wait awhile?

Almost immediately. The save area was phasing in and out when I saved
