Your favorite Consortium character?

Post by FordGT90Concept » Mon Mar 14, 2016 1:10 am

I really don't know why but Pawn 4 is my favorite. It could be the writing or it could be the voice over but it is probably a combination of both. I really wish I could put a finger on it...

Ha, that's funny. Pawn 4 is also my favourite (don't tell the other actors that!) ;) He's got a lot of fun layers that Styg absolutely brought to the character himself. I can't take credit for any of that. He had a lot of fun doing sooooo many takes of every line in sooooo many different ways... I felt like a kid in a candy shop getting to choose my favourites. What's funny too is that he was the only actor who worked remotely (lives in Sweden, recorded from a home studio). We did all of his lines by going back and forth over email until happy. Fun fact is that he originally played Rook 13 in a suuuuuper early "test" cut, and I pretty much wrote Pawn 4 specifically with him in mind.

Now THAT is ironic. When you suggest he is from Sweden in Consortium, he gets negative alignment and corrects you that he is Norwegian. So a Swedish VO actor is voicing a Norwegian that gets irrate when you say he has a Swedish accent? XD

...which reminds me, an hour ago I was kicking myself that I forgot an update to make on the wiki (was too busy playing to stop and make the change). That update was noting Pawn 4 is Norwegian. Done and mystery solved! :D

Rook 13's voice over fits his character really well just as Pawn 4's does. Excellent work on both.

...Wade. I freaking love Wade that bastard.

It's why I never let myself fail pulling his ass out of the fire. If I somehow do, instant reload and do it again.

I just like him. He seems a lot more friendly than most of the crew. ...And not a creepy way like that one pawn who offers to get you coffee. He is freaking creepy. His cheeriness... it's creepy...

Wade is just my favorite Consortium Character (Since I doubt "The player Character" counts in this game!)

The way Pawn 12 doesn't say anything ending the last conversation with him and just turns towards his console was surprising...and creepy.

Its been a while since I played consortium. But wade was always my favorite character. The friendly guy right off the bat.

But my second favorite was...crap, forget her name. The blonde, who's brother is in the med bay (rook 13?). I was rather hoping to get below that icy exterior. Maybe not a full romance, but getting her to soften up a bit. But I haven't found a way to do that just yet.

I've always been partial to Pawn 11 and Pawn 44, I think they are? The really excitable Pawn and the not-Patricia Frenchwoman. Two interesting characters, although we never get a chance to really talk to 11 like we do the rest.

What surprised me about Rook 9 is that he can turn vile pretty quick. He's only friendly if you're friendly. XD

Rook 25: Allanah Boyle; There's a few spots where the ice thaws but it is only momentary. In Consortium, I can only think of one instance where she gets really frigid (make her hate you then go to bed).

Pawn 11: Adelle Durand; I agree that I wish there was more to talk to her about.
Pawn 44: Charlie Lewis; He's the one in the bunk at the beginning playing a game with his brother. I wouldn't call him "excitable" but he does talk really fast. Did you mean Pawn 12, David Benedict? He's the one goes batty over Bishops. XD

Yeah I meant Charlie. He's very excitable about silly things - like your bed made of hemp, or his brother's video game where he plays as a Bishop. I'd call Pawn 12 more like... fanboyish? Charlie is conversational and at least understands boundaries.

My favourites are Alannah (R25) and Wade (R9). Love the voice acting on both, also I think that their extreme emotions (Wade more towards humour, Alannah more towards anger) is a shield for much deeper and complex personal conflicts that we aren't introduced to, yet.

I also like Taryn (K15) - I have little sympathy for the character itself, but I like how she tries to show a confident attitude towards the crew - although things are way out of her hands, and I think she knows it very well and struggles with that.

I might have more to say when I think longer about the subject, but this is what pops up in my mind instantly when I think of Consortium characters.

Taryn is a little too perfect. Wheats is definitely more interesting of the Knights - a real hardass, though he doesn't show that to the Queen or K15. I'm really interested in Knight 5 and Bishop 1, only shown in 1 article. Very lethal.

Taryn has a mask on I think. The only time she took it off, in my opinion, is when you tell Steve MacKai off then go to the VT or bed. She wants to talk about Steve but you can redirect her to *something personal.*

I would describe the "mask" as "professionalism." She's 100% committed to the mission and nothing else matters. It could be because of that *something personal* too. She lost everything else so she fully committed to the Consortium.

We don't see much of Colin Wheats but the little bit we do see, of course I'm intrigued. XD

This is really hard...but it's going to have to be Wade, Alannah and David. The first two because they're quite strong personalities (with Wade being more charismatic but also firm when reprimanding someone). I chose David because he is too pure and innocent and seeing him fluster is just funny lol. HONOURABLE MENTION to Carla for being super nice. Sorry you got sucked out during the traitor fight ;p

Editing because I'm an idiot and forgot Kiril is my bro. I didn't think of him at first because he was a "villain" D:
