Re: Favorite aspect of the meta fiction

well the point of the survey was to choose your favourite aspects of the meta fiction. A post that says you wanted to choose all 5 works, though. ;-)

Re: Max Character Alignments

Ah, gotcha Ford. We'll have the "extreme" alignment options in The Tower be quite a bit lower than these values to help ensure it will work.

Re: Max Character Alignments

Amazing work, Ford. To anyone that reads this: If you have Consortium installed and a saved game that is near the end of the game: We would appreciate checking the above numbers and making sure that YOUR alignment numbers with NPCs fall within the above min and max levels....post if you find any iss...

Re: Photos from the studio...

We're still working out what will be the final solution. Luckily, the facial animations and phonemes are basically one of the last things we need to do in producing this, so it's not holding anything back. Also, there's FAR less in-person dialog than C1.

Re: Relationships

Hi there, Great questions. The "love relationship" question is a common one. No promises, but we'll do our best. The reason it's complicated is largely due to the story of The Tower being about a major geopolitical debacle, and all your friends from Consortium being on Zenlil. Kind of hard to have a...

Re: Continuity with Game One

So, there's been some changes to this for story and scope reasons, but continuity is still a super high priority. We're just...changing how Game One will continue for meta-fiction reasons. And this means we don't need to update the entirety of Zenlil for The Tower, which dramatically increases our a...

Re: What games you've been playing?

My never released Cavedog game "Amen: The Awakening" is the most direct inspiration - that game was 60% done when Cavedog fell apart, forcing the project's cancellation. Do you know who owns Amen: The Awakening now? If The Tower did really well, is that something you'd consider buying rights to and...

Re: What games you've been playing?

Well the underworld games are dungeon crawlers, but there also immersive simulation games that were made by the same studio that went on to make Thief, System Shock, Deus Ex. Consortium and a lot of other games owe quite a bit to Underworld. Absolutely it does! That game, and those others (except D...

Right on fanatictentacle!! We're aiming to apply everything we learned from making the first game, and that's a LOT of stuff.

Re: Still reaching for stretch goals?

Well, we are aiming to get the game as polished as possible before release to correct the mistake we made making Game One. So, this means cutting back the number of sheer features and focussing on polishing, balancing and iterating on a finished set of features for as long as possible. The longer we...

Re: Still reaching for stretch goals?

Ford, this is certainly a good and valid question. The answer is a little complicated. The Fig total includes most of the PayPal money received, but not quite all, given a few more backers have come onboard over the past couple months. However, we're still technically JUST below the stretch goal amo...
