Re: What games you've been playing?
H&D needs a sequel. Its inventory management and stealth aspects put it so far ahead of any other game in real small unit warfare.
In a lot of ways, it's a WW2 ARMA.

The Wilconson Conundrum doesn't tell us directly what happened to Chard - what it does do is lend credence to Henry's sequence of events. It's clear that Malcolm Thomas' version of the events regarding John Wilconson is simply incorrect according Wilconson's digiconsciousness. I say that, as the onl...

I'm still doing more research but I doubt it will lead to any expansion of the above... What side of the Wilconson story does John Wilconson's ghost tell us? It sounds like the letter he sent about the Foremen being taken away isn't really correct - though it's possible he was hit and killed by Wor...

Hm. If I'm in the lore it'll be tricky. I'm a Boyle after all, so I may have to be a relative or something. I demand a conversation with Rook 13 about how his uncle inspired his love of 2Ds.

I'm still thinking Kevin Chard is the best fit. It might not be him but 70% says it is. Not many that worked at K-1 were acquainted with Bellhurst, for example. The laser-like focus on Worldview can be explained by him believing Worldview killed Sarah Valette. I don't remember why Chard left Worldv...

It's crazy that there's going to be so many platforms for Consortium. Thankfully PS4/XBone have similar dev architecture to PC on this iteration IIRC. Linux/Mac will be the real challenge.

Yeah, I don't really like any of those names. Not enough info at this point, I'd say - I think Xalapa will be our destination for the last game, where we'll get the answers to the Malcolm/K1 dichotomy.

Yeah, but nobody notices that -your- voice is different either when you're in control of Bishop 6. I don't think iDGi-1 is better than K1, so I'm not necessarily sure how K1 doing it is different from us doing it. Which begs the question - why does King sound like he's run through a voice synthesize...

Same on not really feeling X-COM 2. I think it's just really... same-y? Terror from the Deep is the same way - it was just a retexture of X-COM 1. Sounds like they're at least keeping Rook 9/Rook 25/Rook 13/Knight 15 - whom are the prime voices in your head. I'm almost 100% sure that we'll see many of the actors back where possible - and, since the game's 100% voice with no need for mocap, you can find voice actors to replace them. If that's t...

Re: Trying to decipher a sleep sequence
I guess the question becomes this - why does Darsie matter? She's just James' kid AFAIK.
It seems kind of counterintuitive that a singular human being would be the primary catalyst of all of this. Is it something she does? Maybe send the reactor into criticality?
Or is she actually 'special'?

I just don't really find it likely that she's the one in the dream sequences. Maybe the Guardian of Knowledge?
I wish someone could rip the model so we had something to look at.

Are the Guardians actually... Aliens? I mean, I'd go with them as other dimensional travelers, personally - doing the same thing we do digitally, physically. It plays into the Consortium Chess theme, we're the Whites to their Blacks, two sides of the same coin trying to shape the pieces on the board.

It's possible that K-1 did still cause the Earthquake (I'd actually call it probable) but the causative factor certainly wasn't a hack of the Japanese weather control device. That appears to have been a closely-monitored asset that sends up alarm bells at its use. I theorize, actually, that whatever...

I think it adds to the design, in a way - very clean like the Consortium's aesthetic - but it's pretty egregious how similar Pawn 7's corpse and Wade look, for instance. Hard to make a lot of good characters different enough. Voice acting helps for sure.
