Re: Playing without the B.U.S.
I know this topic is kinda old, but as I was playing G1 again to create more endgames for the tower, I notised another bug dealing with "playing without BUS": Right around the time to lockdown in Ops is initiated the player can sprint through one of the pawns entering Ops ... somehow not beeing trap...

Re: EA Alpha 1.3 Bugs! Comments! Discussions!
Hey I've got a completly new bug: Since I have an Oculus Rift now, every time I want to launch the game the oculus software opens up, and remaps the audio output to the rift. Of course there is no video output on it, but I cant get the audio back on the speakers. Aditionally the background services ...

Re: Any chance of Vulkan support?
getting rid of the lighting artefacts that initially led developers to think that MSAA didn't work in deferred environments From what I cought hearing to my gamedev buddys this is exactly the thing. The first games with deferred rendering had this problem. Now it seems to get better. As to deferred...

Re: Any chance of Vulkan support?
@ 4onen okay I totally believe you. The only thing strange about this it, that you can use MSAA in Game One ... which isnt supported on most deferred renderers (in fact deferred rendering opened the path for the various rubbish AA methods like FXAA and the like) From what I understood speaking with ...

Re: Any chance of Vulkan support?
Not sure if IDGI is using a custom deferred renderer again. I'm quite sure that they used the Source Engine (dunno which exact version of it)... they have put some custom shaders on top, but the foundation was source. Which is NOT a deferred rendering engine. Yet it solely depends on the Unreal dev...

Re: Still reaching for stretch goals?
Well, we are aiming to get the game as polished as possible before release to correct the mistake we made making Game One. That would be great. It was too sad that Game One got so many bad reviews because of bugs. I think if you launch the game nearly bug-free and try your best to gain media attent...

Re: Technology thought experiment
You americans really love your "what if when" scenarios dont you? ;) But to correct it from our side... The german effort towards atomic energy (and ultimately bombs) was struggling right from the beginning. They chose the wrong path, had to few skilled people working on it, etc. Like with most mega...

Re: Technology thought experiment
Huh, well in that case... my previous argument still stands: Most modern tech wasnt developed in a single recreatable moment. Almost everything was achieved through technical evolution. An interative process of constant development. Like if you would show a smartphone to a very skilled technician in...

Re: Technology thought experiment
In all of History, Humans always lusted for power. So I personally think that it wouldn't be a good idea to bring modern technology into the past. Whatever technology you take with you, it will be exploited for power. If you don''t exploit it yourself (to become super rich and powerful or a super vi...

Re: Any chance of Vulkan support?
I can agree with that. Vulkan can be of great benefit for every user. But especially with low end specs. (Making the difference between unplayable and playable) On the other hand, you are going to use unreal 4 engine for the tower? It has a quite high minimum spec to even run. Still those minimum sp...

Re: Fig Pledges and Kickstarter Pledges
I know this gets a little off-topic, but: I really wish you (the team) best luck! I hope this campaign gets more publicity than the last one. I think there should be more press regarding Dr. Greg! Get those old, true BioWare believers on board! Its interesting to see. that by now the Fig campaign ha...

Fig Pledges and Kickstarter Pledges
Hello dear Devs ;) I just got word (whole bunch of 'em, bundeled neatly in what i call an e-mail) that the Fig campaign is now online. So I directly jumped on the given link to acquire my super backer status on Fig! Everything seemed alright, but then in the process I discovered a disturbance in the...

Continuity with Game One
This is mostly a question to the developers: I know that developing content under a tight bugdet can sometimes lead to continuity problems. I have seen instances where people from the creative staff got fired or replaced between different parts of the franchise. It is most likely to see some changes...

Re: Trying to decipher a sleep sequence
That first point says she is very important but nothing really explains why. I'm sure it is a main plot component in The Tower. I agree, CONSORTIUM is a Trilogy... so some loose ends or unexplained events between chapters seem likely. We just have to hope for The Tower to be developed and released....

Re: Trying to decipher a sleep sequence
So I thought I'll add my Ideas to this post: I would say, that the person from the dream definitly is the same person, you see at the beginning of the game (during quantum limbo). I think it is supposed to be set in the Tower, hence the Terrorists. So my thought was: This must be Darsie. Would match...
