Re: Favourite Game Art

Hah, well you would notice the squishing as it's your piece but I hadn't really noticed.

I took the photo months ago from an image I scraped off of one of the crowdfunding pages and probably just forced it to fit. It'll do for now ;-)

Favourite Game Art

I thought I'd start off a thread about your favourite pieces of game art, whether it be Consortium or not and why it's your favourite piece. I'll start the ball rolling with my current favourite which is making good use of my ultra wide screen real estate. To me this poster of The Tower represents t...

Kickstarter Page Query

The Kickstarter page states (under the latest news section) that we can pledge now to become superbackers but it was my understanding that this wouldn't happen until the start of the Fig campaign. Please can this be clarifed?

Thanks
James

Re: Broken Links

I'm just wondering if this could be caused by the use of OpenDNS?

Broken Links

1) At thetowergame.com, some of the scrolling links on the home page are generating "404 not found' error messages. 2) On the Kickstarter page, under the 'latest news' heading, the last hyperlink in the last post is broken. I get the message: "This web page is not available" and "DNS_PROBE_FINISHED_...

Re: Story Concepts

I suppose if I replayed it I would pick up on that now. It's a bit like when you watch a movie a second time and you start to see things you completely missed the first time round.

Re: Character Design

Game 1 was built in Source, and we used a tool called Face Poser ( https://developer.valvesoftware.com/wiki/Faceposer ) to create slightly more realistic expressions on the characters. So, mostly engine, but also because wanted the expressions of the characters to match what they were saying. Same ...

Re: Story Concepts

Thanks for the reply. Really interesting, especially regarding officers being allowed to countermand orders from senior officers. Was this explored in any depth in the game such as a sub plot? If so, it completely passed me by. I know it all takes place in an alternate universe but still wouldn't th...

Re: Hello there!

Now, which way to the simulator? In good time! By the way, You'll basically be famous on the forums because you'll be known as the guy who grabbd the username BishopSix before anyone else! There is someone registered as "Bishop6" I believe. So... arguably he won't be. I've only been here 5 minutes ...

Character Design

As I'm not a game designer I only have a fairly rudimentary understanding of how it all works but it was quite noticeable that the character design (particularly the faces) wasn't what we perhaps were used to from a lot of contemporary adventure games. It's difficult to explain what I mean. The best...

Story Concepts

I have a couple of questions for the develpment team that have been rattling around in my head since I played through the game a year ago. 1) From where does the name of the aircraft, Zenlil, originate? 2) Why were chess pieces chosen for crew rankings as opposed to the conventional system of captai...

Re: Hello there!

Hi SirAcid

I agree, the tower itself looks amazing. It's an ambitious concept but I know we won't be disappointed when the game is done.
